BoJ Policy Decision, explained.

The Bank of Japan's decision on its policy rate and any bond-buying or yield-curve settings.

Why it moves markets

Japan kept rates near zero for years, so any shift in BoJ policy can cause big yen moves, including in carry trades where traders borrow in yen to buy higher-yielding currencies.

Who publishes it, and when

Bank of Japan Policy Board. Eight meetings a year; there's no fixed release time, it's usually around midday Tokyo time.

Pairs that include the currency involved usually react most. How much and in which direction depends on the surprise against expectations and on everything else going on. This isn't a prediction.
